THE AWARD WINNERS’ WEBINARS SERIES
Musculoskeletal Disorders

The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences was established in 1999 to honor scientists who have tirelessly pursued distinctive medical research that serves the interests of humanity. In this regard, the Award recognizes excellence through the greatly diversified international, regional and local awards. These efforts have paid off well, as two of the Grand Hamdan Award winners were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology in 2010 and 2020; SIR ROBERT G EDWARDS & DR. HARVEY J ALTER.
Today, we are organizing this new series of virtual activities to revisit the relevant Awards topics, to examine the scientific advances in each field, and to explore the winners’ new interests in the rapidly evolving scientific world.
This webinar will host Prof. Frederick S. Kaplan, Isaac & Rose Nassau Professor of Orthopaedic Molecular Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery -University of Pennsylvania. He is the winner of the Grand Hamdan International Award in 2017-2018 for Musculoskeletal Disorders.
He was awarded the first endowed chair in the United States for orthopaedic molecular medicine.
